Officers found Anthony M. Rice unresponsive about 12:50 a.m. in the 7900 block of South Paulina Street with gunshot wounds to the back, lower backside and legs, Chicago police said.
He was transported to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The man was identified as Anthony Rice of Gresham, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Detectives have brought a man in for questioning in this incident, police said.
He is survived by; daughter, Samantha Rice; mother Marjorie Atkins ;brother, Elgin Griffin; sisters, Allison, Ravin, Jasmine; grandmothers, Eddie Mae Rice and Juanita Brown; grandfather, Ernest Brown ;step father, Turner Atkins; Fiancé, Sierra Lofton and unborn child and a host of family and friends.
